Will you be my Sugar Daddy?

I got into a conversation with a clerk at work, which eventually broached the topic of dating and went something as follows:

“So Linc, I told my daughter about you!”

“Ok…”

“I thought she’d think you might be too old for her, but when I told her you were just north of 30, she said, ‘Oh that’s not too old!’”

“How old is she?”

“She’s 23!”

“Oh cool, and she’s not seeing anyone?”

“Nope, not anymore. And she only has one daughter, but don’t worry, I’m sure the father is completely out of the picture now. You should give her a call, I think she’d be just perfect for you…. Linc? Linc?”

But I had already left the building.

Maybe I’m snotty, but I prefer not to get involved with someone who became a mother before she became a high school graduate.

Oh, come on, Linc! Who is it that hasn’t had some spot of dirt in their lives? I am sure that if he hadn’t mentioned the fact that she has a child you’d be jumping up and down asking for more info on her and perhaps even asking him if you could get to meet her!

I don’t mean to be a meanie, but we’ve all done stupid things in our youth.

Give the woman a chance! Okay, so she made an error or two as a teenager, who didn’t? It might be something great you’re passing up!

I don’t think it is the error she made that is scaring Linc. But let’s face it if he were to beome involved with her, there is a child to be considered, and some men don’t want ready made families. I know you are all gonna think I am mean, but if I were Linc’s mother I would tell him to “run for the hills.”

We’re not talking silly mistakes here (like accidentally setting the kitchen on fire because you overcooked the pancakes just a wee too much.) This is a whopper that involves a new child and completely changes the dynamics of any future relationship she’ll ever have.

I consider myself a very good judge of human behavior, but far from the obvious fact that she’s young and immature, it would probably be another good 5-10 years before I’d know if she would have truly learned from her mistakes, or whether she’ll continue to open her legs up to all of mankind and end up mothering God only knows how many more illegitimate children.

The father also wasn’t “completely out of the picture” either, despite what Momsy said. Getting involved here has about as much appeal to me as jumping head first into a snakepit.

Ready made families are the best :) I have had two of them and regret neither :)

Not in my experience or from what I have seen. You must just be one of the lucky few.

I will certainly be one of the lucky ones if I survive this one, a teenage girl LOL
Raising four boys was easy, one girl might drive me completely insane LOL

The last ready made family I was a part of resulted in the loss of thousands of dollars, my pet being poisoned to death, and my becoming homeless for over 6 years.

    Families can suck my ass.
