What do you think of my “Aside” Posts?

Lincoln Adams | January 6, 2009 @ 12:06 pm

You’ll have to go to the front page of my blog to see them, but I’d like to know what you think so far, particularly if you’re a long time reader who visits my blog directly instead of subscribing to my feed.  I was wondering if I should go for a digest format instead, where each random thought I post is grouped into a normal post at the end of the day.  What do you think, digest or individual?

Either way I’m definitely gonna stick with it.  It’s great fill-in content for between regular posts, keeps my blog more up to date and closer to “real time,” and takes only seconds to write one.  I think overall my blogging will be much improved as a result of it (assuming you don’t find my asides as dull and boring as paint peeling off the walls that is.)

Is this an aside? Cause it’s boring as poop.

I should have mentioned yours was the only opinion that doesn’t matter to me. :D

I would subscribe to Twitter and just put your latest statuses from there here. That way you might even get more visitors.

If you do, follow me. Mine is iHany.

Just noticed you had one. Forget what I said. I think the idea is awesome :P

Link it to your Twitter maybe? So that no one else is confused like I am?

@Hany: That’s exactly what I’m doing. The Asides here are for people who don’t use Twitter. I think of everything. :D

Well, I read your site through a feeder and when I deem your post worthy of one of my fabulous comments, then I click and come here.

hey - I have those. They’re fun. Mine are bits n’ blurbs. I gave them their own category template, too. Fun stuff. As long as they publish to FB/Twitter, it’s all good.

I figured it would make a nice supplement to my blog, but that’s just me being awesome again. :shades:

I’d go with Twitter for asides, or micro-blogging. You can actually get a plug-in that helps publish your daily tweets as a post.

@Isaiah: I actually have it installed now. :D Everytime I tweet, it gets posted here as an “Aside.” In addition I also installed Tweetbacks, which ports any tweet commenting on my post into my comments section as well. Awesome.
