I have to wonder if the battery I’m using now would have worked on the old phone, so I at least would have been able to avoid getting a replacement. Thankfully when I tried a different service center the replacement they gave me actually looked brand new. In any event it’s the last time I’m getting an LG model, that’s for sure.

Don’t feel so bad, I actually DID buy the genuine battery from the verizon online store and still get the error message.

The phone was water damaged about 6 months ago, I got thru that but the battery wasn’t holding a charge so I ordered a new one. Got the ‘use genuine battery’ message. From time to time it would actually power on so I got to keeping it on at all costs, if it did go dead it took me about a 100 tries to turn it on and it finally would. This time it’s been 2 days, can’t get it to power on with old or new battery.
