Today I will act in a manner unbecoming of a government employee and actually do some work

I have some extended time off coming up in October, so this week I really need to take the opportunity to like, do work and stuff.

I actually take some pride in staying on top of the mass of crap that only an inept, broken system of a bureaucracy could spew forth my way, but there seems to be a hidden alert system somewhere that causes the inner bowels of the system to drop maybe 5-6 months worth of work on my desk in one day, all because I dared to pollute the bureaucratic matrix with my efficiency.

Workload - Full In Box

As if that wasn’t bad enough, my coworker (otherwise known as THE MOUTH) gets positively FIXATED on any particularly horrendous backlog we experience at work, and despite having a job title that puts her somewhere between a roadkill remover and a gas attendant, she would proceed to declare herself the boss of the known universe and badger me to half to death to pick up the pace so we can catch up. I just ignore her, yet instead of getting a clue, she only does it more. Since blowing her off doesn’t work, my next option will involve some form of violence. (After all, nothing quite gets the message across that you talk too much like stapling your tongue to your forehead.)

But anyhoo, if I can’t clear the workload by the time I start my vacation, it’s going to be really unpleasant when I come back, and that’s something I would very much like to avoid if I could. So blogging, twittering and facebooking will be light this week until I get ‘er done.

In the meantime, light a candle for me.

I can neither confirm nor deny that the above picture was taken in my office.

I will light a candle in my mind for you. I hope you get it all done before you go on vacation.
Is there some tactful way you could tell your Big Mouth that you work faster with less pressure and more quiet?
Please take some pics with more life, like the butterfly and maybe some with you.
I know that getting yourself into the photo is hard to do when you are the one shooting. I set my camera up and put it on timer. Then I run to get into the shot. Some are extreamly comical. I get a good laugh when I go back through them.
I just did a week at the PNW coast, where the forest meets the ocean. I have a favorite balcony that looks out over the mouth of a river. There is always a mix of river and ocean life that makes it exciting. I never know what to expect and am always pleasently surprised.
Enjoy your time off, no matter what you do. Your adventure awaits……..

I’ve tried that for years, but she’s one of those sort that are constipated in the brain, but diarrheatic in the mouth.

I don’t take any pictures of myself so I can continue to blog anonymously, which is partly due to my job and partly so I can continue to write openly about things I normally wouldn’t be able to write about. I might do a silhouette of myself though. ;-)

Okay, stick your hand out like you’re waving to the camera. That way only your hand will be in the photo. You’ll have to play with that, so your hand won’t be the only thing in the pic. Maybe, you could stick your foot in one, too.

My imagination is having way to much fun watching you do that.

I took a photo of some surfers while I was on the beach and I ran far enough back to get myself pointing my finger at them. Tricky. They weren’t posing for me. I took several shots to get one good one. Lots of quick dashes back and forth. It was very stimulating and great time. I found myself laughing by the time I got to the end of that little exercise.

I like to play with my camera. Some day I will show you an Arizona sunset that I shot. Your silhouette in your sunset avatar on Twitter reminded me of that. Your avatar is postcard, or greeting card art worthy. Very special.
    :)

P.S. What does flame-bait mean? I’ve never heard that or seen that before now.

I have several filters for my camera that I have yet to try, but basically what they do is either polarize the picture or turn moving water into a silky look. I have to read up on it again since I forgot how it works. And I’ll remember to stick my hand in there every now and then.

BTW, flame-bait is the act of posting an incendiary comment that serves no purpose other than to start a “flame war.”
