Thief Thief!

One of the growing trends I’ve been observing in the blogosphere lately has been the arrival of social networking and Web 2.0 sites that all seem to have one thing in common: they’re all designed to encourage you to store your content on THEIR networks, rather than on your own site. Got photos you want to show the world? Upload them to Flickr. For videos, there’s…..

The Sound of One Man Tweeting

A writer at MSNBC recently took a look at the Twitter phenomenon and concluded that Twitter was ultimately boring and stupid. Maybe instead of spending her time clapping her hands and gleefully exclaiming, “Oooooh look at me, look at me! I actually get paid to write the crap I do!” she might see there’s more to it than just announcing to the world when you recently…..

The Big Web is Watching

I came across Clutzr recently, which offers a social networking service that allows people to view your clickstreams (essentially where you’ve been on the web). In other words, the public at large can basically monitor every move you make on the Internet. And yet rather than consider this a really BAD idea, the makers wrapped a cute blue bubble around their package and calls it a…..

Holy….

I woke up late this morning, and not being in any hurry to get to work, I lazily surfed the Daily Blog Tips site, looking for advice and suggestions that I could apply to my own blog. I came across one post that linked to this article on how bloggers can use social networking sites like StumbleUpon to boost their traffic. So with nothing better to…..

Faceless on Facebook

I’m in a slightly better mood today…. no I’m not. Ah well.

I signed up for Facebook after getting an email from them indicating that open registration was now allowed. As much as I hate social networking sites, (especially Myspace), Facebook though seemed far more sophisticated to me, sporting a MUCH cleaner look than that other networking site that shall not be named again. So I figured what…..

In Myspace, No One Can Hear You Scream

When Hell vomited forth its presence onto the Internet, the net result was the creation of Myspace.

I’m no stranger to online social networking, but what goes on at Myspace can only be adequately described as some drug induced psychotic nightmare that even the marginally sane among us would do best to avoid. At one time I had actually thought this might be a good place for networking and meeting…..
