My muse! My muse! Where is my muse??

Lincoln Adams | June 2, 2009 @ 5:14 pm

I checked my stats for last month and I only blogged two posts for the entire month of May. TWO posts. :wideeyed:

Yeah, I probably should blog more frequently than that if I’m to get more traffic and achieve my dream of being a full time blogger who lives off the love and affection of his adoring audience. :D

Part of the reason for the lack of posts is that I simply had no energy to blog. And when I did have some energy, anything I wrote felt too silly or boring that I doubted anyone would have any interest in reading it, especially since I tend to rehash a lot of the same topics. Writing is the one thing I think I can be good at, so when it doesn’t seem to flow freely from my mind to the screen I get so depressed sometimes. I hate being in a funk like this. I’m hoping June will be better blogwise, and maybe from now on I’ll just publish whatever happens to be on my mind, even if they’re like the worst content I’ve ever put to paper in the history of the universe.

So even if my blogging does take a serious dive in quality for the month of June, what’s the worst that could happen, really? :ggrin:

Come check my new bloggie toys!

Lincoln Adams | April 10, 2009 @ 3:33 pm

I’ve been trying to figure out how I could work side posts (mini-posts or the equivalent of tweets on Twitter) and a featured articles gallery onto my blog, that way it would be easier for new visitors to dive right into my content and get a good feel for what my site’s about.  Normally what people do is build a front page that highlights the best content and then push the blog itself to a subdirectory.  But then again I’m not normal.  :silly:

So check it out:  the featured articles can be seen on my home page and the side posts can be seen on the top right.  You know, where there’s a big honking image that says “SIDE POST?”

And lookie here, I’ve even included a poll so you can tell me what y’all think of the minor changes!  :shades:

What do you think of my new Featured Articles and Side Posts additions?

What do you think of my “Aside” Posts?

Lincoln Adams | January 6, 2009 @ 12:06 pm

You’ll have to go to the front page of my blog to see them, but I’d like to know what you think so far, particularly if you’re a long time reader who visits my blog directly instead of subscribing to my feed.  I was wondering if I should go for a digest format instead, where each random thought I post is grouped into a normal post at the end of the day.  What do you think, digest or individual?

Either way I’m definitely gonna stick with it.  It’s great fill-in content for between regular posts, keeps my blog more up to date and closer to “real time,” and takes only seconds to write one.  I think overall my blogging will be much improved as a result of it (assuming you don’t find my asides as dull and boring as paint peeling off the walls that is.)

Running on Empty

Lincoln Adams | October 21, 2006 @ 5:57 pm

The lack of posts haven’t been due to a lack of a desire to blog, but rather a lack of endurance. I’ve noticed lately that minutes after I would wake up in the morning, I’m about ready to collapse right back into bed and continue sleeping for the next 5 days. Since I’m not exactly in peak condition, I don’t have as much energy as I should have, but for the past few days I’ve barely had any energy at all.

Maybe it’s because my job sucks. Maybe it’s because I’m just tired of life. Maybe I just need to get out more often and get some fresh air. Or maybe I just need to stop saying maybe. :bored:
