Today I do Harvard, or should I say, HaaHhhHVAAhhhd!
But first a stop at Fenway:
Yes, I did in fact dare to wear such a hat at Fenway, but I promptly took it off before anyone saw me… I think.
Funny thing about Fenway: after spending a few days at Boston, I only noticed maybe one or two locals donning Red Sox gear. But while I was walking around the baseball stadium, EVERYONE was wearing Red Sox hats, jackets or whatnot. I’m not kidding, either.
I stuck out like a sore thumb even without my Yankees hat. And as an extra bonus, I saw the official mascot for the BoSox too, Wally The Green Monster, just walking down the street like any old dude:
One girl actually ran across the street to hug him too. I was going to ask her to hug me as well, but I hadn’t quite hidden my Yankees cap completely out of sight, so I decided not to chance it. Ah well. Even ugly mascots get all the love.
Still, a fun visit, I walked around to see if wanted to get inside the stadium, but it seemed closed to the public. Once again, that will have to wait for another day. I got back to the subway and got out near the Hynes Convention center, deciding to take a brisk walk through the city and also check out the other hotel I was considering before I came here. When I finally got to it I realized I had made the right choice in staying in the financial district. There was a bar beneath the hotel and it also seemed positively squeezed between two busy looking buildings. Good call there, Linc.
After walking all the way back to the Commons, I went under again and took the T line to Cambridge. It was time to see the breeding ground that regularly produces the most repugnant and disgusting elements of our society mankind has ever seen: Liberals!
To be honest, it didn’t look any different from any other university. The campus looked similar to some of the ones I’ve visited or used locally, and the students all looked the same to me.
As I walked around campus, two Chinese girls who were apparently tourists approached me and asked if they could take a picture with me, being a Harvard student.
“… suuuuuure, I’d love to take a picture!” We posed together and I gave a thumbs up sign to the camera and flashed my trademark grin. Oh what I wouldn’t have done to have my Sarah Palin button with me.
I continued walking around, passing by the law school and several other buildings before finally turning back to Harvard Square, where I passed by a student holding out a Starbucks cup and begging for money to help pay his tuition. Rich beggars, gotta love ‘em.
It was getting late in the day, so I decided I had seen enough, and headed back to the North End for another taste of Italian food. This time I went for Regina’s Pizzeria, which also touts some of the best pizza in Boston.
Meh.
I think I’ve been spoiled by New York pizza. There’s just nobody out there that can do it better than us.
I took the rest of the pizza back to the hotel and realized for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow it would be time to go home, and already I was beginning to miss the city. On the upside, I believe this would only be but the first of many visits to come.

I have decided to be a man…
Lincoln Adams | October 18, 2008 @ 2:18 pm… by running away from all my problems.
The last few days I’ve been following up on the latest political news, which I realize tends to put me in a violent, must-eradicate-all-liberals-on-Earth kinda mood. The last straw were all the personal attacks on Joe The Plumber, whose unforgiveable sin it seems had been that he asked a question.
But then I realized that despite spending so many hours reading up on the news, being well informed doesn’t really do anything for me except raise my blood pressure. See, I’m a guy who has no absolutely impact on anything that happens in the world, so why bother getting upset over things that I cannot possibly ever change? Indeed, the only thing I CAN change is myself. So I have decided to do just that… by withdrawing completely from reality and pursuing an escapist lifestyle where I can remain blissfully ignorant of everything that’s happening in the world.
I can see the wisdom now of barricading myself in my room with nothing but my desktop PC, a bundle of Netflix DVDs, a few bags of Tostitos and some cheese dip. I’d remove all the political/news feeds from my feedreader, lock out all the news channels on TV, then completely immerse myself in playing massive multiplayer games online (or perhaps my favorite Nancy Drew mystery games.) If I have a hankering for something more than chips, I can always order from Papa John’s and have them slide the pizza under my door.
Who says I don’t know how to enjoy life??

Ok, I made that last part up, but I really hope it’s true.
Michelle Malkin gets the story behind the hack, and it is absolutely fascinating (and frightening at the same) time, to say the least.
The offending alleged hacker was a guy called rubico, and he wrote to an anonymous board that was ground zero for this madness, explaining his actions and how he did it:
In the past couple days news had come to light about palin using a yahoo mail account, it was in news stories and such, a thread was started full of newf&*s trying to do something that would not get this off the ground, for the next 2 hours the acct was locked from password recovery presumably from all this bullsh%^ spamming.
after the password recovery was reenabled, it took seriously 45 mins on wikipedia and google to find the info, Birthday? 15 seconds on wikipedia, zip code? well she had always been from wasilla, and it only has 2 zip codes (thanks online postal service!)
the second was somewhat harder, the question was “where did you meet your spouse?” did some research, and apparently she had eloped with mister palin after college, if youll look on some of the screensh*&ts that I took and other fellow anon have so graciously put on photobucket you will see the google search for “palin eloped” or some such in one of the tabs.
I found out later though more research that they met at high school, so I did variations of that, high, high school, eventually hit on “Wasilla high” I promptly changed the password to popcorn and took a cold shower…
Seriously, that’s all it took. Request Yahoo to send you password recovery, answer the personal questions right, and presto you can change the password and get access. If the “hacker” has enough personal information about you, he can successfully answer the questions and bypass Yahoo’s fluffy security measures and do God only knows what to your account. So really, the guy wasn’t even a hacker, just a clever, (albeit at the same time monumentally stupid) prankster who is now probably getting his face phonebook-bashed in by the Secret Service even as we speak.
But the beautiful thing is, after all that, he found… nothing.
I read though the emails… ALL OF THEM… before I posted, and what I concluded was anticlimactic, there was nothing there, nothing incriminating, nothing that would derail her campaign as I had hoped, all I saw was personal stuff, some clerical stuff from when she was governor…. And pictures of her family
I then started a topic on /b/, peeps asked for pics or gtfo and I obliged, then it started to get big
Yeah, no kidding. Dumbass.
Of course, this doesn’t stop the Palin Bigots from having a field day and questioning her intelligence because she uses Yahoo Mail for personal use and getting off on having her daughter’s cell and voicemail and whatnot. Well dudes, I use Yahoo too, (in fact two Yahoo accounts), so um, F^&* you?
And really, I can’t imagine the courage it must have taken to go after somebody’s children and family like that. Really now, you anonymous liberals are just a beacon of unparalleled bravery and valor. Don’t agree with a woman’s politics? Let’s attack the kids! That’ll show them stupid hick Christians who didn’t have the sense to have abortions when they should have gotten them!
God I hate moonbat DailyKos sucking liberals.
Update: The “Hacker?”
God he even LOOKS like a dumbass.

Faceless on Facebook
Lincoln Adams | October 5, 2006 @ 12:13 pmI’m in a slightly better mood today…. no I’m not. Ah well.
I signed up for Facebook after getting an email from them indicating that open registration was now allowed. As much as I hate social networking sites, (especially Myspace), Facebook though seemed far more sophisticated to me, sporting a MUCH cleaner look than that other networking site that shall not be named again. So I figured what the hay, and made the plunge. There are many networks and groups you can join, so I decided to try my local network to see if there were any likeminded hot looking girls that I could discreetly add to my list of friends.
There were plenty of them in my area… that is, of course, until I filtered the results. You can filter results in different ways, including political affiliations, so the first thing I did was filter the results to show only “very conservative” girls.
No matches. NONE. Good God.
So I tried just “conservative” and got back 11 hits… out of what had to be well over 1000 girls in the same network. Man did I pick the wrong political ideology to follow. It’s not that I have anything against liberals (other than the fact that I can’t stand them), but I do think whoever I hook up with ought to be on the same wavelength that I’m on, or at least understand where I’m coming from.
To be sure, there have been many times where I wished I had been a liberal atheist instead. My goodness, I’d have so many options I wouldn’t know where to begin. I’ve thought of pretending, but I can’t do it without looking transparent. It’d be obvious that I didn’t believe the liberal nonsense I’d be spouting, just so I could impress some girl. Hell I can’t even stomach saying the name “Clinton” without spitting. It’s just not who I am. And unfortunately for me, just by being who I truly am, that is, a conservative Christian, the dating pool has been reduced to a mere puddle.
As if to reinforce this point, last night I took the profile test for eHarmony… again. I don’t know why I keep going back to them, other than that I must be a real glutton for punishment, but having nothing else to do I wanted to see if I could finally get a personality profile that for once might be accurate. I answered the questions as best as I could, and got back a profile that wasn’t totally off the mark (but not much close to it either). I did think it was VERY accurate however when it described those ideal qualities that would make a match perfect for me.
After I finished the test, eHarmony did a search for matches…
“We have found no matches for you at this time.”
Yep, somebody up there is definitely having a lot of fun at my expense. If only I had a large family, then I could simply do what all the other red state Christians do: just marry a cousin of mine.
