Privacy Policy

This site does not collect any personally identifiable information about you (such as your name, email address, etc.) except when in your capacity as a visitor, you specifically and knowingly provide such information. With each visit that is logged, this site collects information such as the time of day, URL visited, browser type, browser language, and IP address. That information is used for our personal record and to provide more relevant services to users, such as showing contextually relevant ads based on the URL visited. In addition, this site may share information that is not personally identifiable about you in the aggregate with advertisers, business partners, sponsors, and other third parties. Any personally identifiable information that you do disclose will not be shared with any commercial third party without your express consent, unless we are required to do so in order to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute, or court order.

This site also partners with ValueClick to serve ads and/or collect certain information when you visit our website. ValueClick may use cookies or web beacons to collect non-personally identifiable information during your visit to this website in order to help show advertisements on other websites likely to be more interesting to you. To learn more about this “behavioral advertising” practice or to opt-out of this use of your anonymous information, you can visit http://valueclickmedia.com/member_privacy.shtml

Use of Cookies: A cookie is a small piece of data that is transmitted to an end-user’s computer and stored in the cookie directory of that user’s hard drive. A cookie identifies an end-user as a unique, anonymous user (but does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information about that end-user). This site uses cookies to authenticate and keep track of user sessions and to measure the number of unique users viewing particular ads. In addition, cookies are used to reduce the likelihood of end-users seeing the same ad over and over again or more than a certain number of ads over a certain time period. As an end-user, you can generally configure your browser to accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set. (Each browser is different, so check the ‘Help’ menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences).

Advertising Disclosure (Including Contextual Ad Links)

Advertising links contained within posts and comments are typically denoted by single or dashed/dotted underlines.  Native and other noncommercial links are typically not underlined. Posts that discuss a specific product or service in which I received compensation will be indicated as being sponsored.

While I strive to ensure only high quality ads are shown on my site, it’s impossible for me to vouch with certainty all of the many products or services being advertised.  Please conduct your own research and carefully consider the claims of any advertiser before purchasing any of their goods.  In addition, if you come across an ad you find objectionable or suspicious for whatever reason, please contact me and provide as much information about the ad as you can (including link, name of advertiser, where it was shown, a screenshot of the offending ad if possible, etc.)  I will then look into it and if necessary, have the advertiser permanently blocked from showing any more ads.
