When my husband lived in Iran, he said one of the worst insults you could call them was “raghead.”
I would never abase myself to the level of using such a derogatory term.
I prefer the phrase towelheads instead.
Uh oh. I smell a fatwa….
Actually, I like Iranians. They are “real” if you know what I mean. Very friendly, very outgoing… they’ve had some really kooky leaders, but then, so have we. They respond very readily to the love of God, because unconditional love and compassion is something not very pervasive in their culture. They are totally taken aback when someone loves them, or does something for them expecting nothing in return. The Christian message in Iran had been spreading like wildfire. It was in Iraq, too, until the Americans invaded (for some really strange reason, persecution of Christians has increased since the Bushies marched in).
The sad thing is that it’s such a beautiful country, with mountains galore and beautiful valleys. There’s a large segment of Iranians who emphasize their Persian heritage and haven’t been caught up in the “let’s destroy Israel and Jews everywhere” mentality.
It’s eery to see the parallels between them and Germany, which, if you took away its cracknuts Nazi history, also has a lot of admirable traits, from beautiful land to delicious chocolates to my favorite festival of all: Oktoberfest. Mmmmmmmmm…. :-D
And needless to say, the Persian women are sizzling hot too. OW!!!!!!! Shake it MAMA!
Sorry, I need to go hose myself down now.
Since the headgear is made out of sheets, I prefer to call them “sheetheads.”
You’re the only guy I know who could take the topic of geo-politics and twist it into The Dating Game.
What can I say, I have a one track mind. :-D
