Something wrong in friendships with these people? From there, you can make other acquaintences. The 50 year old mothers are looking out for their single daughters, neices, etc,maybe sizing you up before they mention you to them. The Military wives have sisters, single friends etc, same purpose perhaps. You cannot see all possible futures, that is the perview of God.

Far from being wrong, I enjoy it, I just think it’s truly weird that I can’t seem to relate to male guys my age, in fact even most people my age or younger who are also unmarried.

Perhaps you’re simply more mature, more intellectual than people your own age. Is it the job you have? Do they get the wrong impression? Is it the religion if you discuss it? Where are you meeting these people that reject your friendship? That may have something to do with it. Just some thoughts anyway.

I think that’s part of it. There are only one or two people around my age, but they drive me apey. One girl just talks about MTV or how she needs to join Weight Watchers (this she says with a 98 pound body). Good grief.
