Day One: The Race Through The Keystone State

Whooooooooooo wheeeeeee, what a day! This will be a light post since I spent most of my energy organizing the traveling metadata I put together to indicate where I’ve been, what I tweeted while I was out and about, and finally a collection of my most notable photos I’ve taken for the day. You can view it all below this post. Let me know what you think!

All in all, translating my experiences into online content worked out pretty well. Trying to use Check.in’s service so I could check in on multiple sites (from Foursquare to Whrrl) at the same time was a tall glass of FAIL though. Either check-ins didn’t go through or they kept getting botched somehow. From now on l’ll just check-in manually, even if it winds up being more work.

My cell also overheated as well and died prematurely when I forgot to turn the screen off. Without my cell I can’t tether my iPod Touch to the internet, so it becomes a royal PAIN when trying to write something online or upload a photo once the battery goes. I really cannot wait to get an iPhone so I can finally avoid these kinds of headaches. :-P

Other than that it was a good, but long day of driving. I had passed through several areas where people I knew online lived nearby, but I never got a chance to meet up with any of them. Either my timing was off or they conveniently disappeared to avoid seeing me. Heh.

I guess that’s how it is. Some people will think you are truly awesomely awesome… as long as you keep your distance and they never have to meet you in real life. But show up in their neighborhood and suddenly all you can see are their backs as they flee for their lives. “zomg linc is here i gotta get outta here omg lolzahah!!!eleventy!!”

Meh, I’m ok wth that though. The anti-social “I hate people and hope they all die” part of me would prefer to be alone anyway. :-D

Ok, off to bed, need to try to get up before the crack of dawn so I can watch the sunrise from Pittsburgh’s Golden Triangle, then have breakfast at a nearby famous restaurant. From there, well, we’ll just see what the day brings.

Nighty night!

Rebecca, re-read my post if you can. I accidentally updated it when I was deleting the old content and it went hoinky boinky on me. Let me know what you think. :-D

I’m just passing through here on my way to Arkansas too. I might spend the night in Pittsburgh if I like it enough and get lucky with a hotel, if not I’ll be in Ohio shortly enough!
