these are the moments when i am almost glad that i came from an all-girls’ school - no one who i would have already probably forgotten by now remembers me with such vitriol.

on the other hand, my all-girl school upbringing is probably partly to blame for my being Valentine-less for 30 years and counting. i used to hate this holiday, too - until i realized it wasn’t worth my energy. and, yes, i am still Valentine-less! )
