I don’t understand the progression above. How do you go from having your heart broken to losing an arm?
Initially that’s what I thought, but he’s turned sideways there, which is why you only see one arm. That was me in junior high school by the way. And high school. And college. And at work. And pretty much everywhere I go now.
coming from a culture that is still lagging behind the times and where the man still has all the power when it comes to dating, i’m pretty surprised that you haven’t found someone by now. :)
you’re actually the first guy i’ve ever encountered with such vehement anti-V-day sentiments… i always thought that was the exclusive province of semi-spinsters and dateless women like myself. :)
@clairebear: Ever since little Donna from the third grade took the Valentine’s card I gave her and stepped on it, I have not enjoyed a good Valentine’s Day since. I hate this “holiday” with a passion.

these are the moments when i am almost glad that i came from an all-girls’ school – no one who i would have already probably forgotten by now remembers me with such vitriol. :P
on the other hand, my all-girl school upbringing is probably partly to blame for my being Valentine-less for 30 years and counting. i used to hate this holiday, too – until i realized it wasn’t worth my energy. :) and, yes, i am still Valentine-less! :))

I too hate V day with a passion. It’s turned so crass and commercialized it is ridiculous. Nevertheless I sent flowers to my wife and girlfriends. I had to or they’ll turn on me. Typical women, sheesh.
