Glad your feeling better and your vacations are enlightening and helping you realize that there are nice people (generally) 'out there' but someone is always going to be having a bad day, so just stick your tongue out and offer them a wet willy. From what I gather your kind of stuck where you are and financially looking for a perfect loft somewhere close to your work but it might be worth your while to commute... find that cottage like castle and spend some time there. You'll continue to be surprised that everyone everywhere doesn't suck. Some places are worse than others; there is a poem (Americas Best Loved Poems)... something about... It's not you, it's the town that's no good.
All the best,

My throat's been better, been managing to fend off any impending illness so far.

In regards to moving, the problem is where would I work? Working for the government all these years has made me virtually unemployable elsewhere. Plus it's hard to beat the perks I have now, only working 4 days a week, close to 200 days of accrued vacation/sick time, best healthcare/dental plan in the state, and if I show up 30 minutes late every day nobody notices. :D I wish I could take my job with me, then I'd be a very happy camper. I'd leave my coworkers behind though. :D

I am planning to apply for fed jobs out of state as they come along, so we'll see. Of course it would be super awesome if I didn't have to work for anybody again and instead earned my living by blogging instead. Ah well, we'll see.

That's my motto of the month by the way: "We'll see." :ggrin:

Don't die on us Linc. We like to hear your adventures. I've suspected all along that women are not repulsed by you. I think it's the fact that YOU have a different mindset when you are on vacation and that "Vibe" so to speak, comes out the people around you.

Dude, you need to get out of Dodge more often.........maybe MOVE out of Dodge. The Rockies are calling.........

Slippery Elm for the throat. Any decent natural foods store should have these herbal lozenges. "Throat coat" tea good too but taste is not that great.

I'm not sure where you live, but have an idea from your photo album. It is not exactly noted for friendly people, but especially women. They all seem to be sucking on lemons & in a permanent hate men/pity party about why they're alone.

But that's a generalization of course. I think your travels are telling you something: you need to change your home soon because you've gotten it in your head that you're not worth loving. That is deadening to any human being and you really mustn't continue with such deprecation.

You will now crack some funny joke, but this is serious. I think you have been heading for that change anyway. The time is now.
