I used Adsense until it started showing ads for a scam site that I was trying to expose. Because I wrote about the scam site in a post, Google started displaying ads for it. Made me look like an idiot (not that such a thing would be hard to do, but still.)

For now I’m better off using networks that allow me more editorial control over what ads get shown.

No AdSense?

To be honest I think the real money’s in affiliate marketing, but I’m finding I really don’t have the personality for it. I HATE being a salesman, especially when it’s for a product I’m not enthusiastic about.

Now if I could somehow rent out my services as a cuddle toy for hot ladies, I think I’d have a moneymaker there.

You could always do paid blogging. I admit that I do that too, but I filter out my posts so they don’t hit the front page.

LoL, I actually did that intentionally since the consensus seems to be that people would rather a link didn’t open in a new window. You can actually still middle click the ads though to do that if you prefer. The only exception is when it’s a Flash ad, such as the top banner. Can’t really do much about that since it’s hard coded.

The only problem with the iFrame ads is that I can’t “middle click” them to open them in a new tab.

So basically, if I want to click an ad, I have to leave your site!

And why would I want to leave your site???
