Being a Christian, I’m not one to celebrate Halloween, though I don’t begrudge people who do. I understand not everyone is going to be enlightened as me. :-D
Still, it does get rather depressing that I always seem to take the minority view no matter what the subject is, or in this case, a minority view within a minority community of Christians. Whatever I believe, it seems I’m the only one who believes it. Sigh.
So while everyone goes twik or tweetin’ or attending costume parties and bobbing for apples and generally having fun, I can only but watch it all through my window with a clear conscience, and cry, knowing the unpopular aspects of my faith will always keep me isolated and alone.

Cheer up Linc! Life’s not so bad…. not everyone wants to be the toothfairy, thank goodness!

Whoa.
You’re not allowed to post links anymore.
You’re not alone, bro. I don’t celebrate Halloween either, so while many friends are out making merry I’m home too. Besides, I find no joy or interest in joining them anyhow. Missing out on such “joys” are but a small price to pay for the bigger prize, don’t you think? :)
God bless!
@Isaiah: Unless I miss out on the bigger prize too, God forbid.
Aye, bro. Persevere. :)
I’m also against Halloween.
I work in retail, so on Halloween night, everyone at work wanted the night off, and the only people who could work were the employees that were practicing Christians…because none of us celebrate Halloween. LOL.
I did notice something pretty pathetic (in my eyes, anyway): out of all the holidays throughout the year, Halloween is the only holiday I’ve seen that actually makes certain retail stores (like mine) virtually EMPTY. No other holiday is ever like that.
Kinda weird, I’d say.
I guess it’s because people aren’t buying anybody anything for that holiday and are too busy throwing rotten eggs anyway. ;-) Thanks for the heads up though, now I know the perfect time to get my early Christmas shopping done.
