You Big Meanie!
Lincoln Adams | January 3, 2008 @ 4:51 pmOn New Year’s Day a horde of Potterheads (Harry Potter fans) descended on my blog to respond to a 6 month old post of mine, bringing out my more caustic side and causing some of my longtime readers to keel over in uncontrollable laughter. Not exactly how I thought I’d be kicking off the new year, but oh well.
And yep, I admit it, I was a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig meanie.
Originally, I penned my anti-Harry Potter as a George Carlin style hit on people who take Rowling’s series just a little too seriously But after the invective, insults and threats of lawsuits that ensued, I wondered if maybe my personal brand of dark humor might be a little too much for a medium like this.
Then I received IMs and emails from readers howling with laughter over what they thought was the funniest comment thread they’ve read in a while.
Well what can I say, I aim to please.
Sadly though, being a snarky SOB is just not a persona I can maintain all the time. I’m far too much of a sweetie pie for that.
Besides, I’m better off reserving that kind of vitriol for my other blog, titled “I Hate Everybody and Hope They All Fry in Hell.” Yeah the title’s a little long, but for some reason that blog consistently gets ten times the traffic this one does. Go figure.

In fairness to you, I went through your site. I read quite a few blogs, including this one. I went to read your personal stats you have posted, and have a few comments to make.
First, I have asked my fellow mugglenetters to stop the attacks, whether they will or not is their choice. I did ask for the language to be clean and the posts to be of the level of writing I know they are capable of. Most of them have decided to agree to disagree.
I would like to address something else though. In your personal profile you list the King James Bible first in your favorite books, then Devotional Works second. But while all of us have claimed a religion and/or Denomination, you state quite clearly that you are a Independent, Conservative Non-Denominational Christian.
Are there doctrines in your faith that allow you to lust after cheerleaders, or call foul names at football players, or believe in premonitions? These things and so many more are right here in your archive.
I do not want to get into another argument with you or your other site visitors, I am just pointing out that no matter how you slice it, you sound as though you are in no way a Christian.
In the blog entitled When Church Girls Become Call Girls you very clearly state that you believe a dream to represent :
Now, I am in no way saying that you have be in church every time the doors open to be a good Christian, I am saying that you should live your life to the beliefs and ideals and doctrines put forth by the bible and the religious leaders of whichever faith you believe in.
I really do wish you all the luck in the world in finding your happiness, because from the state of your blogs, you are no where near it. I hope your dream girl is out there and that she really is the one for you.
But most of all, I hope that somewhere in your heart, you find the right path to Jesus and being a good Christian. It’s the one paved with good deeds, helpful comments to others in need of them, and loving your fellow man, even if he disagrees with you.
Best wishes, and please don’t take this as insulting or as another attack, it wasn’t meant to be. It was meant to be a helpful and hopefully thought provoking post.

I don’t, and you do have some legitimate points to make, though I’d like to think I have my points as well.
I appreciate your feedback though and the time you took to write your response here.

Trust me, I’ve met people with a worse sense of humor.

Can’t…resist…this…urge…
I think everyone should lay off Lincoln because the Bible says “Do not judge or you will be judged” and saying that Lincoln is not being a very good Christian is making a judgement about the way he lives his life and we shouldn’t do that unless we are perfect and none of us is perfect so let’s all just lay off Lincoln and be nice because if we are nice to others they will be nice to us and there’s just too much name calling going on in the world and the world would be such a better place if we could all just get along and respect other people’s opinions even Lincoln who doesn’t like the best series of books ever written (for those of you who don’t know that means Harry Potter) and doesn’t understand people who do I would just like to say that Lincoln is entitled to his opinion and we should just let him have that opinion and not judge him because the Bible says we should love people who disagree with us and pray for those who persecute us like Lincoln and Lincoln might be a little mean but we need to love him too and especially not judge him because we shouldn’t judge anybody.

Sweet baby Jesus in Paradise! Is that what it takes to get hits, ragging on the Pottermaniacs? Count me in; my post will be up shortly. J/K! OH, no. Rowling may ASSume that my just/kidding refers to her and set the Muggles on me! LOL!
This is fun.
And… please tell me: when did Christians cease to have a sense of humor?

Are you kidding me? Did you forget that we were the ones who invented Holy Laughter?
