When Vocal Chords Become a Runaway Train
Lincoln Adams | November 2, 2007 @ 9:35 pmYou ever know somebody you hope never ever manages to back you into a corner so they can talk and talk and talk talktalktalktalk till your ears scream out for mercy?
That was me yesterday. I’m here minding my own business and doing some data entry, when I get verbally jumped by one of my coworkers, who decided I really needed to hear what he had been doing for the past 9 days:

………………………
20 minutes later I faked having to go to the bathroom and hid out there for another 15 minutes until I was sure he was gone.
I now have a newfound appreciation for silence.

Welcome to my ENTIRE FAMILY on my Mom’s side. They will talk you to death. When my grandparents lived in an apartment building on the first floor right in from of the parking lot I used to watch their neighbors cut through the parking lot and walk on the other side of it so they wouldn’t walk past my grandparent’s house.
People adored my grandpa but that man never knew there was this crazy little thing called quiet.

Scary.
It marks one of those rare times when I’m actually glad I have a hearing loss.

You’re welcome Sidharth!
I try to get laughs out of my audience, but sadly I am not always successful.
