Oh Seven, where did we go wrong?
Lincoln Adams | July 7, 2007 @ 7:07 am
Seven was a number I once thought would have a profound impact on my life. Because it traditionally symbolizes completion, perfection and fullness, I used to look forward to an event that involved the number 7. Whether it was a room number, a day of the month, or the number of times someone tried to call me, I always paid more attention whenever the number seven came into play.
But the more time went by, the more meaningless it became to me. Recently I had just passed my 7th year anniversary since I started working here. I wanted to believe that the completion of 7 years meant that my time in this lousy job would finally end, the number seven at long last setting me free so I could move on to something better.
Of course, nothing happened. Come to think of it, I don’t remember any major event that’s ever happened in my life involving the number seven.
So what happened, 7? Why don’t you care about me?
7, I’ve been waiting so long,
Oh 7, where did we go wrong?
Oh 7…..
Ah well. Maybe 8 will give me the love I need.

Having been born on the 7th day of a month, I too once thought the crooked number might hold good luck and fortune for me. Turns out, it doesn’t…looks like that number has abandoned us both! Let me know if you have any better luck with 8

Whoever coined the term “Lucky Seven” was obviously an idiot.
If 8 doesn’t bring me joy, there’s always 9.
